If you have your monitor mic connected (I assume to the rear Pink jack) that it may be overriding the front jack???
If this is the case, unplug the monitor mic and then see if it will work.

As you upgraded, did you install the correct sound driver? Usually Vista drivers work OK with Windows 7. First choice for driver is the PC vendor (or motherboard) for sound drivers.

Also, do you have everything connected correctly? http://www.turtlebeach.com/support/i...ryID=607418123

My monitor mic is run through a usb 3.0 cable so its not hooked to my sound card and i have tried unplugging it and restarting my computer to see if it would detect my headset mic after plugging it in and yes i do have the mic plugged in correctly as i said it was working fine when i had vista. I do have the correct drivers installed i even uninstalled them and reinstalled them just to make sure but it just refuses to detect my mic and i cant for the life of me figure it out myself
