Which speakers for PC should I buy?

I'm planning to buy a new set of speakers for my PC since my set of speakers now is old and the right channel is not anymore working. Which among these are the best one?

    Logitech Z506 5.1
    Creative SBS A520 5.1
    Creative Inspire T6160 5.1

I really want to get a 5.1 set because my sound card supports I think 5.1 so I don't want to waste that.

The Logitech's seem to be popular, as I see them mentioned more than the others. Mostly it depends on how much you want to spend (or not spend).

There's nothing to beat going to your local computer store and trying speakers out before buying them. Remember that it is what sounds good to your ears, not necessarily what others might say.

I agree with that. Several years ago I got a set of Logitech speakers for like $8. They sound fine to me. That is all that really matters.

Do you really want a 5.1 clutter in your computer room?

    My recommendation is only 2.0

    Bose Companion 20.(twenty)

Whether you buy it or not, give it a hearing.

I would go with at least 2.1. The bass woofer speaker makes a big difference.

One should listen to Bose Companion 20. It is as good as a 2.1 system. ( That is why I asked the OP to give it a hearing.)

".......the Companion 20 has knocked our socks off. The sheer volume and drive produced by these 2.0 speakers is astonishing and bass, if anything, is fractionally more prominent than it would be in a typical 2.1 arrangement."

That is what plays with my desktop. So I know it.

I have a recording studio. I've heard PC's with those speakers and I wasn't impressed with them. But, to be truthful I'm not impressed with any of the overpriced Bose equipment.

Perceptions vary especially as regards sound. The O.P. should actually audition the various systems preferably with the music he often listens and decide on the sound that he likes without getting biased with any specific recommendation for or against.
