    What is the recommended sound driver?


    Could anyone tell me the recommended sound driver than High Definition Audio Device (Publisher = Microsoft)?

    While the audio chipset is manufactured by Conexant, Acer writes the audio driver for this chipset to work well with their netbook. So it is best to install the driver they offer.

    After I download, install Conexant Sound Driver and restart my computer. Will it replace HD Audio Device?

    Yes, it should do. It should provide for all enhancements that are available to the audio chip, providing that the driver has support for them. The Microsoft drivers (which are provided for MS by the chip manufacturers) only allows for basic functionality and are sufficient to ensure that the hardware works straight out of the box.
