    Hey there....

I have an 1820m and an 1820 coming to me, both used and untested. I will let u know how/if things work out.

If they both work, I will only keep the 1820m and will be selling the 1820. If they are broken, well...we can discuss that too!

Do you happen to know what kind of power supply the docks need? The one's I am ordering will not be coming with power supply/wall warts.

    Thanks!

    @JLiRD808,
my E-MU 1820m need no external power supply, because the PCI-Card will connect to the power supply of the pc. The connector is above the PCI-Card it need 5V DC.

You can get more information here:
    Creative Worldwide Support > E-MU 1820M

Let me know how the 1820... work.

Ok so they both came in and they both work.

The 1820 (not 1820m) is missing the 48v phantom power switch. I bought both pieces "as-is".

1820m works great, but cosmetically is a little banged up.

I may sell them both, not sure. I wonder if the 1820 parts could help u as well. We need to find out where/how the 1820m and 1820 differ on the INSIDE.

Maybe u can help me with a question I had though....

Can I NOT control the 1820m outputs separately/individually in Patchmix? I wanted to run the extra outputs to different reference speaker systems, which means that I would like to control them (ie mute/unmute, volume, pan, etc.) via Patchmix.

It seems that I can only drop in "send" inserts, but I cannot control them. Basically ON or OFF.

    Any idea?

    THANKS!

OK so they both came in and they both work.
    - Thats great

The 1820 (not 1820m) is missing the 48v phantom power switch. I bought both pieces "as-is".
    - Missing the 1820 only the switch, or is the function behind them not OK ?

1820m works great, but cosmetically is a little banged up.
    - In my opinion is it the best sound ever!

I may sell them both, not sure. I wonder if the 1820 parts could help u as well. We need to find out where/how the 1820m and 1820 differ on the INSIDE.
    - My information says, the 1820m "master" is an other better DSP-Chip and not compatible with 1820.
    - Thanks for the important idea!

Maybe u can help me with a question I had though....
    - I will try it.

Can I NOT control the 1820m outputs separately/individually in Patchmix?
    - YES YOU CAN ( ! ), but what does mean separately? It is the job of the patchmix to regulare the output.

I wanted to run the extra outputs to different reference speaker systems, which means that I would like to control them (ie mute/unmute, volume, pan, etc.) via Patchmix.
    - The 1820m breakout box get several outputs. First the monitor it is the green way in patchmix and all other are red.
    - Lock in the manual to configure Your input/output system at side 55 and follow.
    - The patchmix works exactly like an hardware mixer. To handle the routing between in and outputs. And many more!
    - Let me know which outputs (from the 1820m) do You mean?

It seems that I can only drop in "send" inserts, but I cannot control them. Basically ON or OFF.
    - Sorry i dont understand it?

    Best Wishes

The phantom power switch is missing, and it seems that it is maybe disfunctional, as the +48v light is OFF.

Thats for the advise on the routing, I will look into it some more.

If it becomes too complicated, I may sell both the 1820m and 1820. Are you interested still? Again, there are some flaws, so my price would be pretty cheap.

You are in the Germany though? Im in the US! Shipping might get expensive....but we can investigate and see if it is worth our time.

    Danke!!

Hey....I cant get these outputs configured the way I had hoped.

I really just wanted to have individual mixer channel strips for each output, but its just way more complicated than that, and not something I'm interested in pursuing anymore. It seems kind of dumb to me.

But yes, I am planning on selling these on ebay....unless I figure something out VERY SOON!!
