    Unable to install Realtek driver.

So I was playing Cod 4, had plenty of problems getting it to work, one of the problems was that I had to have the Mic plugged in to open the game, seriously the biggest wtf I've had.

But now I got another fresh problem. The game kept on crashing, I checked out what the problem was, and sure as hell, it was the sound card driver.

So I used some guide, uninstalled the driver I had, and downloaded the newest Realtek driver, that's supposed to support W7, although when I try to install the driver er get..

"Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software", no matter how often I press "Install this driver software anyway" it keeps on poping up!!

How can I bypass this problem, or solve it?

You can try installing it in safe mode, or in compatibility mode.

Try using this method. Device Manager - Install Driver - Vista Forums Note that this is from Vista, but it also works with Windows 7.

You trying to install the correct driver? From what I can see looking at the specs for your board (and any of the other Abit P35 based boards I saw), they all use the HD driver, which is linked here,

Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

and not the AC'97 driver that you posted in here previously.

    Keep pressing, mate

I just had the exact same problem, and I almost gave up. But keep pressing, it works at last.

I seriously pressed that retarded button for like 20 times.

This dose work i had to click it 16 times. What happens is i think Windows 7 check all the .inf files ect as well as the .sys file when installing the driver.

    NO speaker output!!!

I have installed all updated drivers but still no sound... I think it has something to do with not having a speaker output option in my Sound playback menu..(see attachment)

The Playback menu only gives me HDMI options...i have speakers attached to the back green output plug. The sound worked fine before an update...

Please help and thanks in advance...

Can you send a screen shot of your device manager with sounds devices expanded?

Is your HDMI output & speaker output on the same card or onboard?
