    Quick Question About Sound

So just installed Windows 7 and I had one question. Without any drivers my onboard realtek sound set to 7.1 is nice clear and Loud. When I install the latest realtek windows 7 drivers my volume is literaly cut in half. It's still loud enough but I don't get why wihtout drivers everything is so much louder. Is it ok to run without drivers and just use the windows 7 "default" high definition audio? thanks

As long as you're happy with how it sounds, and you're not getting any weird errors, sure, there is no harm in running the 7 drivers instead of the official Realtek ones.

It's not missing a driver. It's using a generic driver. If it were missing a driver, it wouldn't work at all.

To use your shoes example, it's not that you're barefoot, you're just not wearing Air Jordans. As long as your feet are dry, who cares?
