    Automatic switch between Playback Devices

    Hey,

Not really sure about this one. Im struggling with automatic playback on devices. For example,

    1) Headphones - I plug my phones in, and sound still comes from my PC (Before, it automaticlly switched to headphones)

    2) HDMI - When I plug my HDMI cable, the same problem.

I have to manually choose what Playback Device too use. Should it be like this?

Hi, maybe right click your mice on the iconed volume control in the taskbar =>options=> check the box all playback devices. And let uncheck the playback devices list that had appeared.

So, all your devices will appear and will switch on an automatic mode...

If you set the headphone to be the Default Device when you unplug them it should revert to the speakers and when you plug them back in it will go to the headphones. I just got a new pair of Logitech G35 headphones and doing that works for them.

    same issue

So, I'm having the same issue where I did not have this issue day before yesterday (and for the last few years)

All of a sudden when I unplug my headphones I hear nothing out of main speakers. The only device that will play audio now is the one set as default so I now have to switch between the speakers/headphones in the system settings to get sound.

Before this issue...sound would play out of my speakers unless i plugged in my headphones to the 3mm front audio port on my tower at which point it switched to the headphones like you would expect.

Any ideas on how to remedy this?

I've tried a system restore to an earlier point in the month but that did nothing.
