Realtek HDMI Output ATI HDMI Audio -Not Plugged In-

I'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.

I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.

So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.

I have no idea what's relevant, so I don't know what to post screenshots of, but I've read tons of other threads with the same issues but none of their solutions seem to work for me.

Info on your computer would help. We can only talk in generalites or suggestions without it. In most cases, if you have a full HDMI port with both audio and video, when you plug in an HDMI cable Windows changes the default audio playback device from the "Speakers" (your PC sound card) to "HDMI".

In your case the ATI (now called AMD) should be the device that is feeding the video and audio.

As your PC is only 1 month old, the PC vendor's tech support should be the ones to call since you haven't been able to find a solution to date.

Just had this sort of problem myself. Particularly frustrating because it worked perfectly the first time and then went dingy. Turned out that for me the order in which I did things mattered. If I attached the cables with the computer off and then booted up, plug and play recognized the tv and I was able to set it as the default audio playback device. If, on the other hand, I just attached the cable while the computer was on the tv as playback device was not recognized as being plugged in
