There are some Creative (SoundBlaster) cards that are not supported in Vista/Windows 7. Vista/Windows 7 handles some sound functions differently and the reason XP drivers will not work.

I don't have any info on the reference supportpack 2.0.

If the rest of the PC is Win 7 compatible and you have adequate RAM, (2 GB MINIMUM) then the best thing is to just upgrade to a Windows 7 PCI sound card. Here is one for $25 from newegg.com that is compatible and the $25 shouldn't break the bank. Newegg.com - Rosewill RC-702 7.1 Channels 16-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

There are plenty of USB "sound cards" available, if the driver pack does not work. I've seen them on sites other than US only sites.

I have a recording studio and have USB connected recording interface units that can also act as the PC "sound card" and they work well, so you shouldn't have any problems with a USB "sound card".
