Any having luck with Creative HS-1200 Headset?

I'm having a few issues with this product... specifically the mic won't work for me. Anyone having any luck with it, and the new Win 7 drivers?

Re-check your settings because you shouldn't need drivers to run a mic. I don't think I have ever seen a headset require drivers or software unless it had some special function on it other than speakers and a mic.

You are most likely having an issue with your sound card drivers or audio settings.

Corpsecrank, the HS-1200 is a USB headset and does have its own drivers.

Ackis it may or may not work, but have you tried the latest Vista driver instead?

I see well that makes a big difference. I didn't know it was usb. Never saw a usb headset before.

Have you tried asking over at the creative forums as well? I usually find a lot of good info and help there since everything there is specific to creative products.

I've never had good luck (or experience) with Creative customer (lack of) support. I have made a post of there but I figured I'd give it a shot here as well.

Yah I checked out the faqs, made a post, etc.

My gf has the exact same headset as me. I stole hers and hooked it up and it's working without issue. Which leads me to understand that it's a hardware issue.

Now I need to find my receipt. =/

And the serial number of the item:

Finding the Serial Number of a Creative Product

"Serial and model numbers of these products can be located either on the the product itself or on the box that it originally shipped with"

    Oh fun. :)

    Ok guys..

    I know i'm a bit late with this...But 'Stormy13' is right...

I was having exactly the same problem with the HS1200 mic on Win7 64bit...Headphones worked perfectly but no mic..etc..etc...

I downloaded the old XP/Vista 64bit drivers and removed the latest Win7 drivers from Creative..

I ran the old XP/Vista drivers in compatibilty mode for WinXP SP2 and plugged in the headset, expecting nothing again... and what a surprise...Suddenly it was all working..The mic...the headphones..perfect sound and recording...It was all back again.

    In conclusion...

If you got win7 and the HS1200 headset...first download the latest driver..(it apparently updates soundcards and something else) then remove it. It leaves behind the update somehow.

Then download the XP/Vista 64bit drivers HSHP_PCDRV_LB_1_01_0003.exe from the creative site...

Run the driver in compatibility mode for XP SP2

You may get a warning about newer soundcard drivers installed already...Ignore it and carry on with the installation...

Reboot and see if that works...because after months of trying to get my HS1200 headset to work using all kinda of updates, workarounds and fiddling about...i finally got it to work.
