Help with clicking noise every key I push

    Hello,
I hope someone can guide me to an answer as I am about to explode from frustration. My cat loves to stand on my laptop keyboard and this time he went too far. Whatever he pushed, every key I press makes a clicking sound. I have gone through the "Change system sounds" menu and tested every one of the sounds; it is none of them.

Also, I can only press a key one time; if I push the same key consecutively more than once, I have to wait several seconds before the second pushing in order for it to work.

My cat must seriously have it out for me, because I have a lot of writing to do and this is beyond annoying.
    HELP,

Well, I figured it out with some more Googling, so I might as well share the solution before marking this as solved.
