Unable to change USB Headset from setreo to 5.1/7.1

Hey all,

My issue is as follows:

I am unable to change my Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 from stereo to 5.1/7.1 though the configure option in Sound>Playback Devices. I want to do this so I can use X-Fi CMSS-3D with the headset (which I was using before I did a fresh install of my system), instead of having the headset on stereo and using a very basic form of X-Fi CMSS-3D

I am using the headset in a 3.0 USB port and not with a soundcard/onboard sound.

I have disabled onboard sound.

I have updated my Driver and Creative Audio Console to Creative Gaming Headsets Driver 1.01.0004

I have updated my Creative Console Launcher to Creative Console Launcher for Gaming Headsets 2.50.93

This issue has only happened after I have done a fresh install, and I did another to try and rectify this issue to no avail.

Please advice

Windows 10 64 bit

One of my PC's is using an ASRock Z77 Professional Fatal1ty motherboard. There is a special port on the motherboard just for the Creative Fatal1ty headset. From what I see in the documentation the Creative Fatal1ty headset will only properly work in that special port.

Not true,

I have been using this headset for about 4 years now using only USB ports on both Windows XP and now Windows 7.

After doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit I am unable to set my headset to 5.1/7.1 using the config in the Playback Devices section for some reason.

I assumed it was a Driver or Software issue, but I have installed the latest Drivers and Software but to no avail, this headset does not require a specific sound card.

Please advice.

Windows 10 64 bit

The Fatal1ty headset port in my new ASRock motherboard is for current production Fatal1ty headsets. Since this is an older model designed for XP there wasn't a Fatal1ty port available back then.

In XP, there was an Xfi disc included according to the Creative site. Some audio functions are handled differently in Vista and Win 7 and thus some XP audio drivers or utilities will not work, even in a compatibility mode. Is the Xfi disc you have include Vista compatible drivers/software?

Window 7 Ultimate x64

Its compatible for windows 7 64bit.

At least the updated drivers and software is, and was working fine on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit before I decided to do a fresh install.

Its only a 2 speaker headset, but it emulates 5.1/7.1 surround sound when its set to 5.1/7.1 surround sound through the windows playback device section.

The software wont emulate properly unless its set to 5.1/7.1 surround sound in the config for playback devices and its only allowing me to set it up as a set of stereo headset, thus I need to know what I need to do so I can set it to 5.1/7.1 instead of stereo.

Unusual problem: No sound bar for headset and unable to configure them
Hi, I recently purchased a pair of Corsair Vengeance 2000 wireless USB headphones. However, when I installed them and tried to use them, I came across a rather unusual problem. I couldn't test them, or set them as default device, or configure them. It's like Windows doesn't recognise them. All the...
