    Crackling noises in background

When I play music or videos on bluetooth headphones in the bluetooth mode, there is a constant crackling noise in the background. I have 3 sets of headphones and this happens with all 3. When I plug any of them into the computer with a cable, the problem goes away.

The external hard wired computer speakers speakers play ok also.

When I use the headphones on my other computer in bluetooth mode the sound is ok. So the problem shouldn't be in the router or the headphones.

Any suggestions what may be causing the problem, and also how to fix it ?

Yes, there's a cordless phone on the desk with the computer. Also, the cable modem/router is about two feet away.

However when I place my laptop on the desk next to the desktop, the laptop doesn't have this problem.

It almost seems like the problem is in the software or hardware of the desktop, but the computer tells me the sound is working fine.

    Any thoughts ?
