Everything is plugged in except there is no sound comming

    Hey

Problem: Everything is plugged in correctly and i receive no sound from my speaker or headphones. The back panel jack is pissing me off . When i plug the speaker jack and if all goes well , sound is sent and played through speaker ... BUT if i miss the angle, rotation or whatever it is that causes the problem i get only sound,a little voice, mixed sounds,or no sound at all when playing anything ( here is taken example for when music is played) .
    WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
how do i fix it ? it has become waaaay too annoying

Gembird Speakers and Sony wireless headphones ( which are not the problem here )
p5k motherboard ( i think its the problem in this case ), also front panel is not giving me sound ( i think its disabled or something but that doesnt matter much for now )
anything else you need to help me out ?
    Thank you.

    1. Install the correct sound driver from the Motherboard vendor. Non vendor sound drivers may not work or work correctly. Here is the link to the ASUS site for the P5K motherboard. ASUS - - ASUS P5K

    2. If the speaker plug is not fully inserted it can be intermittent or only one side. The green jack is the speaker jack on the rear.

    3. Some audio control panels, such as the RealTek audio manager will allow disabling or enabling front panel connections. Front panel connection problems can also be the connection to the motherboard. Us the HD Audio connector if available in your case, if not then the older AC97 audio connection.

Could the jack be broken? These last 2 days i dont even touch the pc and the sound lowers and then gets back to normal , it starts to produce strange sounds and then i have to work something out and then VOILA the sound is back.

1.I cant install sound drivers ... Windows7 64bit not listed.
2.Jack is always fully inserted ( any more to be inserted and i believe i can break it )
3.Ill have to open up case and see whats going on there .

Could the jack just be broken? Because i think now , how it started acting it looks more like hardware than software. Any thoughts on how can it be broken and is that replacable.

The ASUS site lists Vista 64 bit drivers, they are compatible (same) with Windows 7 64 bit.

The RealTek driver listed on the ASUS site that I referenced is the correct one. This is the correct driver Version 5.10.0.5391&6.0.1.5391

Download and then click on the file to open and install. Follow any on-screen directions.

Look in Device manager to see what drivers to install. My pc uses Realtek HDA. then download the ones for your system. Realtek Installing.pdf

The drivers you told me to download will not install due to error "Does not support this operating system : WNT_6.1P_MCE.
6.1.7601.17514. Under device manager, on my sound device. this is the version it says it is currently.

Edit: Just so we are clear. http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P5K/...rt_Download_25 and then Audio and i choose the correct version ( in this case the one u gave me )

The driver description says Vista 32/64 bit. Unless the web site has an incorrect description or link to an incorrect driver this should work.
