    creative soundblaster recon 3d

So after the problems I had with my realtek onboard sound , on my Asus P8Z77-lx motherboard , I decided to spend some pennies on a dedicated sound card . After reading reviews and watching loads of vids , I opted for the Creative soundblaster recon 3d ,. Plus the fact I found an new oem for £34 delivered , it would have been rude not to buy for that price .
I've got to say wow I am so impressed , I have always been on the fence regarding sound cards , being money poor , I always saw it as unneeded expense . was I wrong . Every aspect of the sound is great . If your playing games or just watching a movie , there just seems to be more sound coming at you from the speakers , to the point of turning the bass almost off . The Crystal voice setting is especially good for when you are streaming a movie with poor sound , it seems to pull the voices forward .
It is paired up with my Bheringer MS20 active monitors , and with just the onboard audio they were good but now they are great . It has got to be the best £34 I've ever spent .

Another happy convert from the "onboard is good enough" camp :)

One thing to remember with a sound card, the tech doesn't change as fast as the CPU/motherboard/video card segment, and you can move it from build to build.
