Bose speakers are overpriced to people who cannot afford them...
Not necessarily. When I last went shopping for speakers, I bought a 5.1 system that was about the same price as the 2.0 Bose I was going to get. The system I bought sounded much better than the Bose. In my book, that made the Bose overpriced since the quality was much lower than a better system at roughly the same price.

The speakers I am using cost probably under $30,00 , like I said I am not an audiophile. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes and opinions. All I know is that the Bose speakers I heard , the sound quality was excellent and this was about 5 years ago. If I was using my PC as a Media Center I would get better speakers but all I do is test Firefox Builds and Play games and participate in forums. I do not need high quality sound. Bose sells due to brand recognition and probably reliability. I am glad you got a better system .

That is true. At one time (I'm going back at least ten years or more with this), Bose did out out high quality, reliable products. But their quality has slipped since then and the higher price for their products is no longer justifiable. This isn't to say that they don't make good sounding products—they do—but others are selling equally good products for much less. The only reason people still buy Bose is because of their past reputation. If they would take the time to do a serious side by side comparison, like I did (that was five years ago, btw), I seriously doubt they would buy Bose.

bose is a marketing company, not an audio company.

Curious. Everything I found on Bose says otherwise.

    Headphones for the win!
    Just kidding,
klipsch is a wonderful brand for speakers, great quality and sound for a justifiable price. You should really go to a store and listen to a few of them. I wish I could have a high end sound system but I live in an apartment. Although I do have my plasma tv hooked up to a 2.1 system. Anything less and tv and movies just aren't right.

These will trounce Bose, Klipsch and the Logitech's don't even have a chance, but they're pricey.
