Distorted audio with IDT High Definition audio codec

Everytime my CPU is forced to do a task like switching wifi connections, openning applications and stuff my audio gets distorted i have no idea why because ive been using my laptop for almost 2 years now and ive been having this problema for about a month now, here is what ive already done:

-Completely restore my computer to its original state
    -Uninstall and reinstall audio codec

I dont know what to do now to be honest i would really appreciate your help, i know this probem can be solved.

Thank you so much for your time.

Hello chalotn where did yo download the driver for the audio from? If it was through the Device Manager I am not real keen on that method preferring the sound device or machine manufacturer's site/s.

Try this Software & Driver Downloads HP Pavilion dv4-4068la Entertainment Notebook PC | HP® Support < open up the the top ref

If you click on the + alongside the Audio driver it will open out to show you the link to download from - see pic.

I am not sure what you mean by a scan of your computer so download Speccy it will tell you most of what the machine is and has on it including temperature readings etc It will tell you the make and model OS details memory specs etc etc

Speccy - Download < download from piriform

You should have stickers on the bottom in any case that give you the model and any other relevant information like the operating system licence number - don't post back any info on that by the way and HP model labels etc

No good heavens no it can be worked out - just out of curiosity just exactly how old is the machine - out of warranty I am suspecting? Have you dropped it spilt anything on it left it in the sun etc etc ?

Sometimes it just takes a reboot to get it going gain I am assuming you did that?

Yes very sad charlotn personally with machines I do not build myself and laptops in particular I shell out that little extra for the extra years warranty as I have a few laptops go to heaven just outside of the original years warranty.

Well I suppose if you can get back and save what data you can then the factory default is a way to try - is that what you tried before?

But before you do anything work through this I know it is a pain but worth a try
