Dazzle DVC100/Pinnacle Studio 14 Volumn Slider Bar Missing

I was able to capture VHS video to laptop as .avi file. That's okay for old family (73 years worth put on tapes from movie reels) VHS tapes as they had no sound. The later tapes have working sound but I haven't been able to capture along with the tapes. When I click on Import, Composite, More it shows the slider bars like in the manual--with one exception. The volumn slider sound bar is missing. I read on a help forum it would not work on Windows 7/64 bit OS. I contacted Corel support. Corel did get back to me and it will run on my OS afterall, but I had returned the device owing to 15 day return policy. Now that I have found this thread I am wondering if I should go out and buy it again. Apparently, I should not have been able to return the device as it had a cd in the package. I don't think I will be that lucky again. I am in the process of purchasing a VHS/DVD combo device if that means anything.

Best option is to get a standalone VHS/DVD player recorder. A PC can do it but it is very time consuming and will tie up the PC for hours. I tried that and abandoned the PC for the standalone recorder. You can load the tape and and DVD and press one or two buttons and it will record to the DVD. You can then "finalize" the DVD in the machine and you are ready to go. Much more involved with the PC.

Oh golly, so glad for your response. I had to borrow VCR to convert tapes. Our machine ejects in the middle of tapes and/or when rewinding. In reading some help articles, this was what prompted me to get a VHS/DVD Recorder device. I wasn't sure it would do the trick, but needed one just the same. I found one online and am running it by my little brother to make sure I get it right. Can't thank you enough!
