There's no Realtek in Device Manager

I've installed Realtek High Definition Audio Device and it doesn't show up in Device Manager. I can see it in Uninstall programs and C:/ drive. If I click on an icon, nothing happens. My playback devices are ATI, Windows standard and Digital Audio HDMI and recording devices are Microphone and line-in.

Without system specs, can't really say what is happening.

What RealTek did you install? The PC Vendor (or motherboard vendor for a custom built) drivers or the generic drivers from RealTek?

The Windows standard, I assume HD Audio Codec, says the driver wasn't really installed or correctly.

To better help us to help you would you please add your systems specs? Here's the correct way to do it. :SystemInfo See Your System Specs Under System Manufacturer/Model Number add whether it is a desktop or laptop and whether self built. Very important

Log in to Seven Forums and you will be able to transfer the info directly to the specs page in your profile from within the System Info app.

After doing this your specs will be available in each of your posts.
Click on My system Specs in the lower left of this post to see how it should look.:)
Full instructions are in the tutorial.

First steps, get the motherboard chipset drivers and the correct sound driver from Acer for your specific PC model.

Install the chipset drivers then the sound driver.

You probably used an expired or wrong URL. Please try to find out the information you need from the following links.

This is what I get after I try model automatic detection.

We can't link you directly to your specific model's downloads as you did not include the PC Model Number in your System Spec's. Add that and we can link you directly to the drivers your need.

Chipset drivers (motherboard drivers) among other things define (identify) all the devices on your motherboard. If the proper sound drivers are not installing this could be one reason. Chipset drivers are installed just like any other driver. As you have an Intel chipset you will have Intel motherboard chipset drivers.

I have to make changes to system specs. I've bought a computer in a store that was custom built. (I always thought it was Asus). It's PCBOF078 PC Plus Win Dante (this is how they market it), but actually the manufacturer is Accord 92. Its sound card is 7.1 Realtek ALC 887.
