Audio crackle or dropping out in media centre

    Hi all,

Had a major issue with win 7 64bit on home prem and ultimate. In the media centre audio dropped off after some time (initially worked okay) crackling with some intermittant video..dtv2000 h leadtek card and later kworld dual dvb t2 card with win7 64 drivers...

I found issue on my gigabyte board to be related to the "intelligent throttling of the CPU" in the bios...appears win7 and maybe vista from posts has similar issue....turn off the bios throttling in bios as it appears to interact with the throttling cpu stuff in win 7's own OS.

Hope this helps some of you...both boards now work and I have managed despite some driver issues (dtv 2000 h leadtek) to get to all to work well with no drop out crackle or intermittant video...Bios setting may be default as well and called CIA in my bios...Regards

    Hi technoart,

I know this thread is all, but I will give it a go just in case...

I think I have a similar problem to the one you described. See my thread:
Audio crakles in WMC when playing video files - Microsoft Answers

I also have a Gigabyte MoBo (GA-EG41MF-S2H). However, I cannot find any setting in the BIOS in relation to Throttling. Was it called CIA in your bios?

    cheers
