Having Trouble with my HDMI Audio. =(

I'm not well versed in IT, I barely know what I'm talking about here.
Basically got a Samsung Tv from a friend and hooked my PC up. As far as I am aware I only need the HDMI cable to connect the PC -> Monitor/Speakers.
Tested Sound on the Monitor (Via Sound Test Diagnostic) and it works fine.
Sound comes through perfectly fine on headphones.
However, I'm unable to switch the audio to the HDMI cable.

It says it's working, just no sound is coming out. When I go into the device section on my computer and try to make them the default they're shadowed and cannot be selected.
If you think you can help, be very specific with your suggestions......I'm a simpleton.

    Hello BloodofDenial welcome to SevenForums,
Have you selected the HDMI input on the Samsung TV? Is the video working via the HDMI cable to the Samsung?

The option isn't available in the menu, but yes there is video....just no sound.

And you have no option in the sound menu for the HDMI or it's grey'd out? Go to your bios and see if you have to enable the HDMI in the bios setting?

The HDMI is greyed out in the Sound/Devices section won't let me enable, test or make default.
How do I get to the BIOS?

Highly unlikely it's turned off in the bios. Are you using a graphics card? Or the mobo for the HDMI.

I would connect the green audio out on the mobo to the Samsung and if need be order one of these.

As far as I can see, there is no Green Audio spot on the monitor for it to go in.
I thought maybe put it in the Headphone slot, but that didn't work either.

What is the Samsung model number? Do you see two rca connectors a red one and white one?
