    Volume mixer automatically mutes game


    I am running a game (3d movie maker) and the Volume mixer has set the sound right down to 0.
    So I put the volume back up, but as soon as I click back to the game, the volume goes right back down again.
    I've read similar problems, but this isn't related to running multiple applications. This only happens with this one game. And this problem happened randomly, after I put the volume down myself. After that one occasion I haven't been able to fix it.
    Communications setting is set to "do nothing" and I have played with options allowing applications exclusive control of volume mixer.
    Any ideas please?

    Is this an old game or one designed for newer OS such as Win 7? Reason I ask, Vista/Win 7/Win 8 handle some audio functions differently than XP and earlier.

    Also, Please fill in the "My System Specs". Helps us to help you. And finally, what sound drivers are you using? The ones from the PC vendor (or motherboard vendor on a custom build) or some other drivers such as the generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec?

I have this huge problem with my volume mixer. I re-sat my TF2 volume to about 24, and now i want it up again, but guess what happens... Every time i then close TF2 or even pick an other server, it re-sets itself back to 24. Please help since i am a sound geek.

A while ago I changed the volume for Minecraft and Firefox with the Windows 7 feature 'Volume Mixer'. Now, when I attempt to reset the volume of each program to being the same by dragging all of the volume bars up to maximum, when i then turn the master volume down, Minecraft & Firefox just go back...

I love to listen to music when I'm playing games. But I use Spotify, is there a program that works like the volume mixer and lets me only change Spotify's volume instead of constantly minimising the game? (One that over laps the game, like xfire) Thanks In Advance :D
