    How do I stop that annoying sound when Windows & starts up.


    This is what I have tried...

    1. Control Panel> Hardware and Sound>Sound>Adjust system volume -I then click the mute icon to mute "System Sounds".

    2. Control Panel> Hardware and Sound>Sound>Change System Sounds - I then select "No Sounds".

    When the system starts up, just when the log-in window appears, I get this annoying chime sound. I would really like to get rid of this sound, when Windows 7 starts up.

    Hello James,

    You should be able to turn off the Windows startup sound, and set the Windows Log on sound to (None).

    Startup Sound - Enable or Disable

    Sounds - Change

    I do appreciate your reply, thank you.
    Actually I found the answer by, (and I blush when I say this), by opening my eyes. There is a simple little check mark on the "Sounds" tab, which is labeled in plain English for all to see,"Play Windows Startup sound".
    Removing this little check mark solved my problem.

Hi everybody! i don't use to shut down the computer just hibernate all the time, but i completly turn off the computer about 2 or 3 times in a month (or when a crash)... but when i start it from turned off i get the gray windows of Adobe Flash Player saying that needs manager rights to continue...
