Audio bit depth not accessible Grey out

hello to all i wonder if there is a way to enable the selection of audio bit depth in the control panel i use Hercules DJ Console Mk4 not as primary i use it with VDJ but the selecion to change from 16 bit 44100 48100 and so on it is not accessible (Grey out) so what i am asking is there away to enable it via the regedit or from somewhere else ''also i has the same problem when i update my Realtek AC'97 Audio''
    I hope I was detailed

Realtek AC97 is an old audio chip. Current RealTek chips are "HD Audio".

16 bit/44.1Khz is standard "CD quality" audio (what audio CD's use). 48Khz is for syncing with some video. Higher bitrates on playback won't give you any better fidelity. I have a recording studio and record at 24 bit 44.1Khz but the 24 bit is only because I can have more headroom when recording, otherwise 16 bit is just as good. When I mixdown it is to the audio standard 16bit 44.1Khz.

For DJ applications, many song files are in an MP3 format and that is a compressed format and if you convert that to a wav format you will never regain any lost fidelity, it will still be at whatever (something less than full fidelity) fidelity the compressed MP3 file is at.
