    Audio device disappeared

    Hey

So PC was working perfectly last night, today no sound and speakers are not showing up in playback devices - it says no audio devices installed. Check device manager in Control Panel and its gone from there too. Cant reinstall sound driver as it cant find any supported devices. Help? I can't live without sound on my PC!

Hello and welcome munchkin mate if you are looking for drivers try these the audios ones are about half way down.
Download Files form ASRock Inc. > Latest Drivers Update
I have to say that is a shocking support site from such a well known brand

Just a suggestion and what I would do if you don't get any joy from thst driver is to fit a sound card mate - much better quality sound and the ones I use are just the basic Asus Xonar DG cards.

http://www.asus.com/au/Sound_Cards_a...ters/Xonar_DG/ it comes with a great GUI interface to change sound settings etc

Assuming you didn't disable the sound in the BIOS, If it worked one day and next day not, use the System Restore function and restore it back to an available restore date when it did work - first step in problem resolution for this type of problem.

    Same Issue

Have you had any luck? A few days ago this same thing happened to me. I have an ASRock Fatal1ty Z87. Sound drivers are gone, I've tried re installing Realtek drivers without any luck. I've tried system restore and still haven't had any luck. The Motherboard is less than 6 months old so I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem.

Try Device manager in Control Panel and in HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download open them both up to see if there are any faults showing and what the audio devices are.

By the by you are running the machine off a surge board? if not have you have any lightning strikes causing black outs or brown outs recently as both might do damage to the board.
