    Audible Caps Lock won't function

Hi guys. My Windows 7 laptop crashed and the information on the hard drive was restored from back-up. Now I'm trying to get back full functionality as before.

I value being able to hear when I have turned on or off (sometimes accidentally) things like Caps Lock and Num Lock.

I went to the Ease of Access Center and ticked the box for turning on Toggle function (then hit Apply).

But I still am not getting a beep for Caps Lock (etc.), on or off.

    What's my next move please?!

    Thanks - Ken18

You hit apply and hopefully OK next also. Then reboot.

Thanks 'Layback Bear' but even after a reboot, I'm still not getting a beep when I hit the CapsLock key (etc.).

Could a part of my sound system not be turned on? (I'm getting usual sounds like the musical welcome after the reboot.)

    Thanks - Ken18

Ken18 - same issue here. Did you ever find an answer? Thanks.

Hi glnz. Yes, I did find an answer. Hope it works for you.

    From my notes:

    > Tonight the sound for the Caps Lock key on my Windows 7 keyboard wasn’t working. I went to Control Panel > Ease of Access Centre > Make the Keyboard Easier to Use. I followed the relevant instructions and clicked Apply. Still no fix – until I rebooted the computer.

I never knew there was a beep. I have a little piece of cardboard wedged under all my caps-lock keys.
