    Gearhead AU6000 USB headset

I have a GearHD (Gearhead) AU6000 USB headset that 7 is unable to find any drivers for. I've looked on the manufactures website and nothing there for this product, in any OS. I've emailed them, but waiting on a response for several days.

In the meantime, does anyone know of a generic USB headset driver I could try? I've tried Googling extensively, to no avail.

    Any help would be appreciated

When you plug them in do you get the device detected sound or anything? I don't think it needs a separate driver. Since the manufacturer doesn't list any. So it could be a USB port problem. Have you check in device manager if it shows up?

Yes, when I plug the headset in, Windows recognizes it as "USB Advanced Audio Device" but then can't find any drivers for it, either on 7 DVD, locally on HDD, or via the internet. The headset shows up with the same name in the device manager after Windows tells me it can't install any drivers for it with a warning saying "Drivers for this device have not been installed".

The headset was plugnplay in Vista.... I figured it'd be the same in 7.

the gearhead site is great isn't it!!! I have a headset from them not sure of the model but they are only a few months old and I have the CD with drivers...again I think mine might be AU4000 or something like that but the drivers work in 7. I can look on the CD when I get home and see if they included all models...
seriously...the site lists all these other products by them but nowhere does it mention headsets...what's that about...

@Nero if you find you have the driver on cd, if you would, you could upload it and post the link to give others the chance to give it a try. Thanks.

I tried those drivers, I have that CD, 7 won't install them by default, if you force 7 to use those drivers, at least for me, once I was done installing them I got the BSOD....

Well, Nero, you must be some kinda genius! I downloaded the drivers you put up, but Windows still didn't accept them... so I forced them manually and I got the same BSOD that I got when I did that with the CD I have... BUT when my computer recovered and reloaded 7, my headset works perfectly now! I have no idea why that worked and didn't work before, but hey..

Although, when I was in the process of manually installing the drivers, Windows did have a generic "USB Audio Device" option before I got to the "Have disk" button, so many Windows updated something that allowed it to work this time, because that was never there before.

Glad to have my headset working again, thanks for the help!!
