    OK,thanks for reply.

    Can you provide any link, program, troubleshooting, or whatever else, in order to check for hardware failures, other than those offered on the Creative site, (which are so general, and pretty much time savvy, but not extensive enough) ?

    I assume you have the correct speaker system selected (stereo, 5.1, etc) and the SoundBlaster speaker (analog) set as default playback device. Those are the only two Windows things that could cause the problem.

    I don't know of any computer program for troubleshooting. But, Windows is showing its working, the green bar is moving, etc, but there is no output. That sounds like a potential hardware problem in the SoundBlaster.

    One thing, if you can talk your friend into installing it in his system, to test, that would tell you if it is or isn't working.
