Can A Acer Laptop Run Win7

I have a Acer Laptop running Vista that is capable of 64b operation. Could I load Win7 on it successfully and it run correctly? Thanks

Well, can you tell us anything more about it? How big is the hard drive, what operating system is in there now, what kind of processor does it have, DVD-ROM? How much RAM etc. Just a basic rundown of what's in there.

You can probably download an ISO image of a Windows 7 installer from Digital River, there are links all through this forum, just go into the search and look for "digital river" and you might find the link. If I can find it I'll post it later.

All you need to do is stick the disc in the drive after you burn it and run the set up, it will run a compatibility test and it will tell you whether or not you can run windows seven on your system. Another issue is does your computer have 32-bit OS or or does it have a 64-bit operating system?

I believe there is also a page on the Microsoft website that you can open up on your system and you can run a compatibility test right there- it will download a little file into your computer you just run that and it'll test your system and it'll tell you if you can install Windows 7, and what version of it you can run.

You should have really posted this over in the installation and set up forum because we can help you there a lot better than here, this is for sound and audio.

Download and run the Upgrade Advisor and it will list any compatibility problems.

Download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from Official Microsoft Download Center

Generally speaking, if a laptop is capable of running Vista it should be capable of running Win 7. If it ran ran well with Vista it should run well with Win 7 as Win 7 is less resource intensive than Vista.
