Different Audio Devices - What Is The Difference?

When watching a video, sometimes my audio works, sometimes it's only the background music and sometimes it's nothing at all.

I often have to toggle between all the choices seen below in order to find the right one...can someone explain the difference between these? Are some of them software/firmware for my Audigy card?

If you are using the soundblaster, disable the Via High Definition audio (on the motherboard) in the BIOS. It will conflict and can cause no audio. Windows only allows one default audio playback device, you can't use both anyways.

    Thank you!

Is one better than the other?

What model is the SB Audigy? If its an older model the VIA may be better. But, its up to you.
