Windows 7: Headphones and speaker recognized as only one device

Headphones and speaker recognized as only one device

I recently bought some headphones and I have noticed that windows recognizes my current speakers and my new headphones as one output (in playback devices menu). This is a problem as I want to be able to switch between these devices freely using a Hot Key of some sorts.
Both devices are being displayed as a single Realtek HD audio 'Speaker'.

Playback device menu currently:

Proof that both devices are plugged in:

I've been trying to use 'SoundSwitch' to assign a Hot Key to switch between these devices, but it is not possible as it requires both of them to be displayed in the Playback menu.

Is there any solution to this?

Windows 10 64 bit

I have RealTek on both of my desktops (one is an ASUS Z77 motherboard and the other is an ASRock Z77 motherboard). I just tried plugging a headset into the front panel headphone jack on each one. I get a message that a device has been plugged in, but neither show the headphone as a separate playback device. Just the "Speakers".

I'm using the latest RealTek driver, direct from RealTek, for both systems.

BTW, here is how to post screenshots on this forum:

I see I'm not the only one with the problem. It's all down to the awful software that RealTek have engineered to make plug and play with these devices 'more efficient'. Oh and thanks for the heads up about the screenshots, I'm new to the forums so it does help a lot
