    Squeaky Mic, Odd surcumstances

    Hello,

I recently have upgraded my computer from 4-8 GB of ram (4x2GB) and I've been having an issue of where my mic gets squeaky(I sound like alvin from the chipmunks) on a cold reboot, like in the morning. I know that it could be a grounding issue but I dont think it is. I am currently using a dedicated sound card that I have had no issues with.

This is where I get confused. If I switch both the pairs to new slots, the squeaking persists BUT - If i take on channel out, boot on 4gb it goes away! Add the other 4gb and everything is fine.... Untill another cold start.

    Hope you guys can help,

    Matt

Grounding would not cause the problem you are having.

Have you reinstalled your sound driver since upgrading? If not, although a long shot, give it a try.
