Windows 7 ultimate 64

So what are the things in common here? anyone have the same parts? programs? or anything at all that may cause the problem? I have recently upgraded my pc with a motherboard and cpu. After that i got this problem and i am desperate to find a solution. I am a tech head so i have alot of things on my computer (mostly games and programs for rendering and sculpting) Ihave not found anything on my computer that can cause this. can it be a hardware issue? Just tossing ideas out there so someone might figure it out. I joined just for this issue. it is identical to mine and it messes up alot of my day when it happens.

Win7 Home Premium x64

Wanted to post this here since this was one of the top hits while googling this issue myself. Made this account to post.

I had this issue on my brand-new gaming laptop, seeming out of nowhere. Randomly the sound would stop working entirely, and if I loaded up a video on Youtube, it went about 1/4 speed. A reboot would fix this but that is not a very convenient thing.

I noticed that at one point my sound was working fine and, 30 minutes later, it stopped (while I was at my desk). The only thing that really happened of significance was that the screen had timed out and turned itself off (power saving setting). As a test, I set my laptop to never turn off the screen while plugged in.

Since I made that change, I've not had this issue occur even once again. I have no idea why it worked, or why the screen shutting off was screwing with the sound and video playback, but this is what worked for me.

Sound stops working randomly after a while
Hi I've bought a set of new speakers for listening to music on my PC. However they stop playing randomly after a while. If I then go to the Device-manager and rightclick on the speakers (which is set as the default Device for sound) and do the test it works again for a while, whereupon the pattern...

Keyboard randomly stops working.
Hi thelastbonbona, It may not be an issue with the keyboard at all. You may try using a good-known keyboard with the system, if available; will help you to isolate the keyboard as the possible root cause. Alternatively, you may use this keyboard with another system to see if the issue...
