Turtle Beach Z60 Headset Refuses to Play Surround Sound

Currently I have just gotten the Turtle Beach Z60 Surround Sound Headset for Christmas. I have plugged the USB into the front of the PC Tower and have configured it correctly. However, when it told me to configure the headset's speakers for surround sound, it wouldn't play any of the test sounds. Afterwards, I tried to listen to music, but then the Windows Media Player said that it could not play the music file. In the end, no sound was coming out of the headset when I set it up for 7.1 surround sound. Is there some kind of software that I'm missing for my computer?

USB headsets do not use the PC's sound card. They have built in electronics to convert digital to audio. As it will not play the test sounds, either something is not configured properly in the headset control panel or there is a hardware problem with the headset. Best to contact Turtle Beach for support on this.
