Well i tried my Realtek and same problem applies here.

When i try to turn on the Speaker Fill option that is similar to CMSS one i use with my creative i get poor sound quality and no vocals from rear speakers at all and heave hiss ammount.

Can this be a Windows 7 problem in general or im doing something wrong ?

Maybe i should go back to my XP ... I really love to enjoy good quality music and dont really care about games so much they work fine like this anyway.

Same here but with Realtek on board - if the speaker tests all work surely it is a 7 problem?

Well i solved my problem xD

I decided to stop testing all different CMSSs, speaker fills ...

And decided to solve my software problem with a hardware solution.

I just got myself a 2/1 spliter ... so i plugged in my Front Speakers and Rear Speakers cable in the spliter and plugged that into my Realtek sound card atm. Defined it as Front Speaker Out when Realtek program asked and left subwoofer and mic ones same.

I know i know ... Its a ugly sollution. But since i like to listen to my music most of the time this is acctually good for me until creative or realtek make there drivers work properly.

Like this i get a fully working all speakers (even better then CMSS or speaker fill can probably ever be) so for now i am happy if you can call it that lol.

I had Realtek on board, downloaded the latest drivers, no center and back speakers. I disabled it and installed an Audigy 4 right out of the box....downloaded latest drivers. However, I still have the same problem....on side front speakers only. From my research with Creative it seems you can enable the other speakers in a 5.1 setup by opening the Creative Media Source and clicking on the EAX button. My problem is I don't have an EAX console (get message that no supported audio device is detected when I try to launch from the EAX folder under Creative). Maybe you have an EAX console? I can't find where I can download this separtely but maybe you can.

hey mate, i had the same problem and it was driving me nuts. i;m assuming you have windows 7 32bit installed. you cant install the driver that came with the product in windows 7 even if you change the compatibility mode from properties.

It may sound wierd, and i dont know how it worked, butThe fix that worked for me, is i installed windows 764-bit and then installed the driver form the original disk. Bt before that you have to change the compatibility to windows xp.

Just Hit Properties>Compatibility>Check run this program for windows xp.

HOpe it Works for you. Eax console is Working for me and i get surround sound.

I have the same problems but I can at least get surround sound, but not bass/subwoofer, by using a DSP like ATSurround for Foobar2000. I describe my bass issues here:

daniel_k’s SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.5 (10/11/2009) No More Goat Soup

While running Vista for a couple weeks I used your driver pack and it worked great…minus one issue. I have an analog 5.1 speaker system with an Audigy 4 Pro. Worked perfectly with XP. Surround works fine on Vista with this driver package but the subwoofer is outputting zippo. And, yes, I have set speakers to 5.1, enabled bass management wherever I could find it, set the crossover to 200Hz, and turned off CMSS and all effects. There’s no subwoofer output, not even in the control panels.

So I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Pro and the sound is working exactly the same as it did with Vista. Can’t say I’m not surprised. Anyone else have the same situation…and a fix?

I'll add that I also tried the official Creative driver packs. And when I play with the ATSurround DSP's settings I can change the settings for any of the shelf speakers but changing any of the bass/sub settings does absolutely nothing.

Well Realtek speaker fill works acctually you only need to enable it. However it works REALLY REALLY bad.

When it comes to EAX you can find it really hard... And it doesnt really work on huge % of creative cards atm. Creative forum is floded with help requests and many are EAX related. I do have a EAX console from a iP17 support pack for SB Augidy SE. And it doesnt work at all.

Not sure exactly what I did. I tried using digital output via SPDIF instead of analog output. While everything "worked" it was only because the external decoder was using Pro Logic thus the bass was weak and the surround so-so. After I switched back to analog the bass/sub was working with Foobar2000 and the ATSurround DSP. Huh. Still getting stereo with most stuff online, though. Guess I just need to find some software DSPs for IE/Media Player.
