    I dont get 5.1 sound

Well my problem is as goes ...

I have a SB Audigy SE and i installed drivers from Windows Update (those are same as creative site ones) and they work nicely.

I set my speakers settings to 5.1 tested and all speakers work >.< but when i play some music i get only stereo (since no EAX ofc ...)

What ever EAX driver pack i tried to install doesnt work properly (P17X support pack 2.0 and 1.6 ment for my card doesnt work since Audio console doesnt open up) and RobertM (useless drivers since i get Blue Screen from those) and kXproject ( poor sound ).

I tried to install EAX without a driver (so it would work with my current Windows Update driver that works good) but that wont work since i get a message that i should turn off all applications when im not running anything XD.

I tried to install the windows XP package with EAX and it installs XD but what ever i do in EAX console like set CMSS doesnt work at all just like EAX is not there at all.

So any idea how can i get my SB0570 >_< Audigy SE to work with EAX so i could get 5.1 with my Aimp2 player ?

    ljubisa24, welcome to the forums.

    A few things,

    1.
I set my speakers settings to 5.1 tested and all speakers work >.< but when i play some music i get only stereo
Good reason for that; unless the audio file is DVD-A, it is only going to be in stereo without some kind of upmixing involved.

    2. EAX. Eax has nothing to do with whether something plays ion stereo or 5.1, it is exactly what its name implies, "environmental audio extensions",

Environmental audio extensions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    3.
What ever EAX driver pack i tried to install doesnt work properly (P17X support pack 2.0 and 1.6 ment for my card doesnt work since Audio console doesnt open up) and RobertM (useless drivers since i get Blue Screen from those) and kXproject ( poor sound ).
In the case of the P17x pack it probably has something to do with the driver you installed through Windows Update. It may be the same driver version as what is availab;e from Creative at the moment, but think you will find that that is all it is; just the driver. The one from Creative should also have the latest Audio Console in it.

As far as the PAX drivers go, let's just say I'll keep my opinion of them to myself. If you saw what his supposed "tweaks" were, you would realize they don't do anything.

The Kx drivers were never meant for your card, so no real surprise there that they don't work properly.

With all that out of the way I would start with uninstalling anything you can find in Programs and Features relating to Creative, as well as uninstalling the card through Device Manager. Then boot to Safe Mode and use this,

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper (no installer) download from Guru3D.com

to clean up any remnants. Once that is all done try using just the P17X pack and see if that will get the drivers and included apps working.

I did what you said and CMSS is still not working.

Tho i notice now that High definition audio device is same **** as windows xp ( realtek audio ... ).

Can it be that its making problems with my audio again and how do i delete it forever since driver sweeper doesnt delete it ?

I can see where it is in system32 but do i delete those files manualy and try again ?

Make sure that teh onboard Realtek audio is disabled in the bios. Also your HD4650 has its own Realtek audio on the card, so if the onboard is disabled this could be what you are seeing (and should have no affect on your Audigy, other than as another option in the playback settings).

    Then i have no idea

I tried it all and CMSS doesnt work.

With px17 it has no effect same as the creative audio console equalizer.

I guess i need to wait for newer update on this p17x driver pack then XD.

Ty very much for your help anyway =) you have a great forum running here keep up the great work m8

I have similar problem with VIA HD Audio Deck and ASUS mobo. AFAIK the drivers are up to date, but the speaker settings seem to have a mind of their own. I can set them up and test them ok as 5.1, then later on I'll only get sound out of two (or sometimes four) speakers. When I reboot, the 5.1 system is restored. Crazy

If you search the forum you will see that there are major problems with 5.1 in Windows 7 (and believe there were in Vista), it's a very common problem and there appears to be no fix yet.

However, new Realtek drivers out for those with that, so fingers crossed it works, not been able to try them yet myself.

I might pull out my creative and try realtek again =)

Anyone tested the new drivers ?

For me its important to have my music in all 5.1 speakers and since CMSS doesnt work yet XD any ideas on realtek drivers?
