Realtek ac 97 audio problem... help!

Realtek ac 97 audio is what the motherboard disk has on it.
i've tried to vista and xp driver on the disk, but doesn't work.

i've tried to download a windows 7 driver from this forum and it doesn't work... wondering if vista and win 7 drivers are similiar.

i can't connect to the internet because the pc is at work...


I'm working on a home build pc with windows 7 ultimate.
it's my 1st experience with win 7.


It has a msi 945 neo 2 motherboard.
1.5 tb hdd. etc.
2 gig of ram.



everything works fine except no sound.

device manager shows that all the drivers are functional.

the audio driver.... shows that it's working, but no sound.
i've uninstall and reinstall several times.

i'm about to give up... but wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Have you gone to the MSI site to download drivers for your motherboard.

Is this the right motherboard. If it is, I would download the Chipset and Audio and any other drivers you might need, then you will not have to go back to the site.
