    UPDATE:

    I was able to solve the issue. I purchase the original ATI DVI to HDMI adapter off ebay for like $5 dollars. Now my ATI driver is up and working. Its showing up an "READY". See below

    So the ATI Adapter was the problem

    Sounds about right. The ATI adapter (which should come with any of the HD cards that don't have a HDMI port) is wired/pinned differently from what is in a regular DVI-HDMI adapter/cable, to allow passing audio over HDMI. Wouldn't surprise me if Gateway doesn't have a box of the things from not sending them with the PC's with an ATI card in it.

    So i was right from the beginning then?
    The only thing you needed is the ORIGINAL ati adapter!
