    Sound Loop Buzzing / Freeze

Hey guys, I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP UD3 with the new UEFI Bios. 2 x 4gb gskills , MSI 770gtx , Samsung 250gb SSD, Razor Deathadder Mouse, Razer Blackwidow Keyboard

The system is rather old/ board about 3 years. I had this problem before and it went away after re-installing windows last year but now its back.

    Symptoms:

System will make a loud buzz from speakers almost like an audio loop , play audio extremely slow and freeze system. Now at first i thought the system was hard freezing since I could not move mouse or Cntrl Alt Delete anything. Last night i got so pissed off after it happened again i got up and walked away and to my surprise when i came back everything was fine and responsive which was about 10 minutes later.

I triggered it again and waited, and again after the temporary freeze the system came back and I did not have to hard reset it. There is

    No BSOD
    No Event log

    What I have tried

    Driver Wipe of all drivers
    12 Hr Memtest86
    Intel Burn Test
    Verifier
Safe mode (which problem does not seem to happen)

Everything is set to default in Bios, no OC of any kind and using XML profile for memory
I used the Verifier and set it for all drivers besides microsoft and it triggered a blue screen for Razer synapse cloud based software which i removed and installed the old non cloud based driver so but the freeze still remains

It tends to happen the most when cruising the Internet watching videos or listening to Spotify, and rarely in games. It does not seem to happen in safe mode at least it has not yet when i was hitting every youtube video i can find.

Since you have a Gigabyte motherboard (I used to have a Gigabyte Z77 UD5H), do you happen to have the Gigabyte "EasyTune" installed? That is a know CPU hog and can case sound problems.

You may want to run the DPC Latency checker and/or the Resplendence Latency Mon and see if they pinpoint the problem.

I remember USB being at the top of the driver list, ill post the specific errors when i get home

" Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates."

I am on wifi- recent drivers are installed. I also tried turning off all Intel Power management stuff in bios like C1E and such

Wi-Fi is a known cause of many audio problems. Disable Wi-Fi and see if you still have the problem.

RANDOM GAME, RANDOM SYSTEM FREEZE and LOUD BUZZING ANNOYING NOISE.

Yup - Can you Answer YES to the Following:

    YES - ON-BOARD SOUND
    YES - REALTEK DRIVERS
    YES - LOUD BUZZING NOISE
YES - RANDOM GAMES (confirmed CSGO and ANYTHING BLIZZARD)

Then Uninstall your MOBO REALTEK drivers and let Windows decide what to choose.
Windows will install default drivers and then your problems may or may not be solved

For me - today, I can play CSGO, and every single game out there - EXCEPT for ANYTHING BLIZZARD. So, no more HOTS or D3, but at least CSGO works...

ABOUT TO TOSS THIS MSI on-board sound CRAP OUT THE WINDOW...and just get a decent sound card and new headset...
