Need analog audio out of my laptop. Cant use 2.5mm jack.
Hey Guys, Someone who I will leave nameless broke my 2.5mm audio jack on my laptop. At first I was bummed, then I purchased 7.1 usb gaming headset. I must admit they have the most pure sound I have ever heard. Bass is deep and treble is crisp.
I would be fine with this situation but I also have really nice sound system that is just sitting on my desk not doing anything. I used to rattle the walls but without my analog they stay silent. Is there anyway I can somehow get my digital outputs such as usb or HDMI to convert to analog? I don't have an HDMI stereo to use so I will need to build or buy a digital to analog for my usb/HDMI. I do have a broken HDMI cable so if one of the HDMI pins happens to be dedicated to analog audio I could cut and splice my own cable using my soldering gun. If HDMI is nothing but digital that would suck.
An suggestions to get my sound system up and running again?
Thanks
