Distorted sound from time to time system wide.

    ASUS CM6870 with Realtek ALC892 8-channel sound
    i5-3570
    Nvidia Geforce GT 620
    8GB Memory

Windows 7 x64 with all updated drivers.

After reinstalling Windows 7 from scratch start getting distorted sound (like a crack sound) from time to time.
This happens with different regularity (sometimes very seldom, sometimes often, sometimes constantly).
This happens in video players(Windows Media Player, MPC-HCx64, VLC) as well as in the browser when watching flash or html5 videos. This happens with different video containers, video codecs and audio codecs. Never happened with system sounds. Installed the newest K-Lite codec pack. Did not help.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you

Run the free DPC Latency Checker and for more in depth analysis run the free Resplendence Latency Mon.

    Sounds like a Latency problem.
