Yeah, we will only link to an official download site, and never to a 3rd party site.

hmm.. except the only official SITE is the RealTek's home driver download page..
but as I said it hasn't been updated since January 13th 2017.. and that is no good for getting updates...
and the MS downloads are only a loose of files.. and realistically can't be counted on for a proper update of the complete RealTek package installation..

Its too bad you feel that way Brink, Station-Drivers is a good site I have had no issues getting updates from them... However there site is in French by default but u can set it to other languages, including English! lol but its is rather difficult to navigate.... so I have those specific pages I get updates from bookmarked (and! they are sorted by date to ENSURE that the newest is always at the top of the list lol )

the files hosted there are ALL LEGIT digitally signed installers, driver files ,a BIOS files... etc.

Nope. MUC is official as well.

We don't link to 3rd party sites since they are not official. No matter how safe they may be. It's a safety issue for our members.

I will occasionally link to PC/OEM manufacturers' customized Realtek audio drivers because they may contain features that the official Realtek audio drivers from the Realtek web site & MS Update Catalog sites don't have.

Like with Microstar International (MSI) - they have a customized 8210 driver posted recently that has Nahimic audio integration DLL files. the Nahimic APO DLL files are usually not included in most of the 81xx/82xx drivers from MUC. Heck, Dell has a customized 8184 driver that has MaxxAudio integration & Maxxaudio app bundled with some of their recent laptops that support Maxxaudio (and the MUC site & even the Station drivers site don't have the recent drivers that feature MaxxAudio integration, hah!)

Other than that, Brink is right on, Melchior. This forum will never mention any new Realtek drivers that are listed on Station Drivers or lesser known 3rd party sites. sorry.

About the newly released R2.82 package from Reatlek - it has driver version 6.0.1.8186 dated June 14, 2017. Kinda took Realtek several weeks to get the R2.82 package ready.

    RT Drivers

Thanks erpster4 for your most helpful information!
I've been slowly dealing with my computer and ever since i purchased it i
have not detached the internal speaker problem i have with it but that's
    whole long other story.

Sorry to ask about this but when you indicate to try the first post for the 8199 drivers, is that-you mean, from a link to Realtek(?) + the alternate as you R2.82 v8186 Drivers and i could probably make that work out. I used to have friend's linkage to MCI Realtek driver updates but since that disconnect, i haven't been able to go on my own and actually get a Realtek updated driver and since i don't have that kind of computer...I have this Dell Optiplex 980 w/a SSD and 'intel' 5 chip BTW.
So, thanks again for your great info. and time in taking to reply to my thread because it sure is not easy to get any Realtek driver on my own for some reason and the current driver i have's from 2/7/2017 as for Realtek.
So, if i'm correct, i would just go ahead and get to Realtek's download site, & try obtaining the -- R2.82 v 8186 Driver is what I might try tomorrow evening.
    Later*
