Any news for drivers for the AC97? This is weird, but on my old old old Pentium 4 system (3.2 Ghz, 2GB Ram, Ati HD2600xt AGP) the sound is working completely fine, and it is an older realtek sound device, the AC 97. I think the driver I am using is a mix of Vista/XP drivers, since I see the same old Sound Management program from 2004, and not the new redesigned sound management which I see on the Alienware m15x with Realtek HD Audio. It is better though, because even though it looks dated, I can still apply global equalizer settings adjusted by me and not just some presets. In the other hand, I have to let you know that after upgrading the Bios on the Alienware m15x and finding a process that was taking almost all CPU power and memory, I no longer experience sound issues. The process was the power management from Alienware.

    Hi israeljamesbond,

You're in luck. There is a new driver available, version 6302_Vista_Win7_PG537.zip available here: Realtek

    Hi Aaron,

It was in the readme.txt file included in the ZIP download.

Though it is the latest version, my PC still have no sound. Actually, I have to install the audio driver from the original mainboard driver CD and of course it works perfectly@!
