Win7 RealTek HD failure with DVD

DFI Mobo with RealTek ALC885 HD on-board, Win 7 loaded last week. Using Gigabyte graphic 1G card (nVidia 9600GT) w/built in HDMI. Audio and video of sample files that came pre-loaded with Win7 or since accessed from the Internet look/sound great on HDMI playback. DVD video perfect using WMC or 3rd party player. But sound was a loud screaching sound from all playback packages, would make a great alarm! Again, ONLY on DVD playback. Audio disks or PVCD disks played fine. Updated RealTek drivers to 11/2 version - screach still there in WMC, but 3rd party packages now have no audio at all. Ripped a DVD and only 1 of 3 ripper packages produced a file that PowerDVD could play w/sound. So the audio stream is coming through or I couldn't be ripping it and playing back. Just want to play a basic DVD. Same lack of output on blu-ray. Using Lite-On iHES208 SATA drive.

    Suggestions?

    Hi all.

Does anybody know, if this Realtek driver (R2.37) does enable DTS interactive on a GA-MA78GM-S2H (rev. 1.1) with onboard ALC889A HD?
It was available in Vista. But the driver included in W7 dows not offer this option.

    New Drivers Still Problems

I just downloaded the new drivers and still having troubles trying to get my microphone to work. I apologize if this is hijacking a thread or the wrong place to post this issue. I have a Intel Desktop Board DG965WH.

I tried putting mine on the front panel and it didn't work either. This is seriously a headache because I use skype for conf calls a lot. It's almost worth it to buy a new sound card almost geesh.

I have the same board, with 237 drivers, and have options for DTS, but not DTS interactive. I can simply turn it on or off.

This works great for video's that I am playing that are encoded for 5.1, It puts the proper channel output through the optical into my receiver. Works great.

Non-encoded stereo does not work properly. My center channel is output to my left channel. All Voices come out the left channel. Can't figure out what's going on, if it's a bug, or a setting.

If I move the balance to -3, towards the left, I get voice out of the right channel. If I keep pushing balance to the left, the actual balance does not go left, it goes, left, right, left, right, and finally all right, with the balance all the way to the left. Which is backwards..
