I need a strange help with the new driver...
In this new version 6.0.1.7695 and the driver from softpedia is a "stupid bug", the equalizer presets are missing.
    Using Dell Audio MAXX Wave.
I wish if anyone who have an older version and have the time and the patience to give me the presets numbers from "Soft Rock" preset.
WARNING: is a squishy operation because sometimes the line is moving +0.10/0.20 up or -0.10/0.20 down from the correct value.

PS: if i rollback driver it will give me the version when the all MAXX Audio presets are totally missing, like not working at all.
    Thanks!

    Happy New Year 2016!

Realtek HD Audio driver version 6.0.1.7701 (12/22/2015) available from MS Update Catalog for 32bit & 64bit Windows

@Andrei10: You can try rolling back to an older Realtek audio driver on your Dell computer. If that doesn't work, uninstall whatever Realtek audio driver you have, reboot and try installing this v7628 driver from Dell.

    Hi, Brink,
Would the xp system, (old computer) that is having no problem with audio with ac 97 audio drivers from realtek (by intel),need to update to the latest driver? I am having no problem in using this audio driver and there is no sound problem.
Ofcourse, the realtek occasionally updating drivers for windows 7, which at present , has OS,but these are not signed nowadays. Please clarify

@jraju: you are using a different set of Realtek audio drivers. AC97 (legacy) audio drivers are NON-HD audio drivers but do work fine under Windows 7. You will need to obtain Win7 specific Realtek AC97 audio codec drivers (NOT the High Definition Audio Codecs) from the Realtek web site and not use the XP-based audio drivers on Win7.

It's okay to use un-signed Realtek AC97 audio drivers on Win7. However, the signed ones (aka. Microsoft WHQL approved drivers) are only available from the Microsoft Update Catalog site and the latest version available from there is v6.0.1.6305.

@brink: v6.0.1.7709 now posted at MS Update Catalog for 32bit & 64bit Windows
WHQL for Windows from Vista to Ten

    Hi, erpster
Thank you. But i have purchased every hardware compatible with xp at the time of purchase. Would the same support windows 7 also? For example, windows 7 needs aero drivers, but i did not have those. I have graphic drivers for xp.
Intel has stopped all support for their old system and their update drivers program gives only blank page when auto update drivers option is selected.
Is it not strange that a organisation like intel stopping support to old mother boards. It is unfair. When a system works, it should get all the support it needed. No body wants to change the fridge if it is working correctly or the washing machine if the automated program works correctly for years together. What is your take on it, brink.
