Is there an alternate download site or a torrent or something available for these updates? It keeps timing out on me. I'm rather excited about having more than 2 channels again.

Hello Tarscien, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I usually wait until late or some off peek hour to attempt to download them. It's just to busy and slow when it first comes out.

I just installed the new driver and it made a HUGE difference. I only have 2 channel sound but the volume is finialy loud enough I don't need everything maxed out to barley hear.

Tarscien, try the zipped version, I had problems with the application one.

heres the driver for vista/7 - |MG| Realtek High Definition Audio for VistaWin 7 2.38 Download

this site always posts the drivers the same day.

and xp if you need it - |MG| Realtek High Definition Audio for 2K/XP/03 2.38 Download

    all virus free, promise :)

glad to see realtek finally added an equalizer.

edit: damn, my audio sounds so clear now :) hasn't sounded this good since i first bought my laptop with vista. I cant help, but notice the audio fading in and out a tad bit though.. nonetheless, its an improvement. acoustic songs especially sound so much brighter.

Can't wait to try this after work...hope it gets rid of the snap crackle and pop .

Can you adjust each band of the equalizer or are there just presets?
