Having installed it I have found my sound is worse than before, I am going to revert to the previous driver again at least that was more stable than this is, I can't browse the net and listen to shout cast radio with out crackling and constant drop out's
That's too bad, I was going to install tonight... maybe I'll hold off and see if anyone else is posting regarding poor performance.

    anyone, anyone?

I too have had no luck with 2.42 and am reverting back, yet again, to the Vista driver.

Just got around to installing the Realtek 2.42 driver and ended up reinstalling 2.41 a couple of hours later.

I was getting small pops and cracks when playing DVDs, it also seemed like audio was generally less defined, even muddy sounding.

2.41 works well on this system and exhibits none of the problems described above.

I know this is from a first poster but, i'm big into pc audio creation and have had issues with a few soundcards.

I know this isnt a full fix but....I've found that wireless adapters have alot of conflicts with audio...especially on lower end laptops with crappy IRQ assignments.

Try disabling your wireless adapters and let me know if it helps...I believe it to be a hardware issue drivers cannot fix.

LOL, yep. I usually end up waiting until around 2AM or so to download them in their offpeak hours.
