Speakers Make An Audiable Pop/Crackle Noise Whenever Starting Playback

I'm not sure why this problem exists, but if I play no audio for maybe 1 or 2 minutes, then open up youtube or an audio file to play it, there is a pop before playback even starts. If I attempt to play something else immediately after the pop happens, then that audio does not suffer the same problem. This also is not a problem exclusive to the media player because any sound that is played after about 30 seconds of idling has the same audible noise right before it. It is actually a very frustrating problem. I have reinstalled the Realtek audio drivers multiple times and this still doesn't help get rid of the problem. My speakers are the Altec Lansing ADA745 5 piece set.

I remember users having this trouble back in the Win XP days on the Dell forums. With an old 4.1 speaker system, this suggests an old PC. Is this correct? (Please fill in the "My System Spec's - it helps us to try and help users).

If the Realtek is Windows 7 compatible, uninstall the RealTek in the Device Manager and also uninstall the Realtek drivers. Then restart the PC and Windows will detect and reinstall the Generic, Basic Function, High Definition Drivers. See if they change anything.

Well, what you suggested seems to have fixed it. I just don't understand how Realteks drivers could be so disfunctional.
