AMD HDMI Output no longer works.

For some reason starting last week there is no sound coming out of my monitor. Whenever I click test on the AMD HDMI Output, it says the device is already in use. However there are no program currently running that will use it. I have tried with the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" checked and un-checked.

Tried uninstalling the drivers, installing them back, troubleshooting found nothing.

I also had this problem and after reading the AMD forum it would seem the latest AMD High Definition Audio driver has a problem,to solve the problem roll back the driver to a previous version and the sound will be back to your TV.It worked for me even though my roll back took me to a generic Microsoft HDMI driver i now have sound on my TV.

Doing this will just reinstall AMD High Definition Driver 7.12.0.7722,as i previously said this driver has a known fault concerning sound so a rollback is required to solve the problem.

HDMI audio gone after last AMD update

Step by Step How To resolv! (sorry about my bad English)

On the audio OUT/PLAY properties panel

Right click on HDMI audio output, then click "properties".

Then click on "proprties" again in the newly opened window (next to AMD High Definition Audio Device).

Then Click "Change settings" and toggle to second page.

With the middle button set back your previous driver.

And now you have HDMI audio again

I can't roll back the driver, it's greyed out.

When I click "Change Settings", I can click on everything except Roll Back Driver.
