Computer will no longer play any sound via hdmi

Hello, I was just recently using my computer when all of a sudden the screen went black for a second and the sound cut out permanently. I have restarted my computer multiple times, changed HDMI ports, set the HDMI driver to default, and basically everything that Google will tell me to do. After following some advice I found on the internet about reinstalling my sound drivers, I can no longer even access the sound mixer (it has an icon with a red x on it instead of sound bars) I'm truly lost here, both the speakers and my headphones wont work. What should I do to fix this problem?

I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I have an i7 3770k Processor and 16 gigabytes of RAM.
My motherboard is a Gigabyte G1 Sniper 3.
I have an AMD Radeon HD 6670 Video Card.

Hello Autastic, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

Since this has just happened, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened may be able to sort it for you.
